Just a little up date before heading home to Topeka. Barb sitting down to some boiled crawfish at Lake Arthur, LA and holding an alligator at a information center at Jennings, LA.
Last picure is some of our group that worked on houses in Jennings and Lake Charles, LA. We were at a local restaurant north of Jennings called DI's

It's a struggle, but we will survive!!!!

O.K., we're settled in at Sunscape RV park at Casa Grande, so here's an update! Have been sightseeing, made 3 trips to my neice's house in Gilbert and seems as if we are always busy. Mostly enjoying the weather.

Posted pictures are of the 'resort' we stayed at in Mesa.

Me and the 'Boss' in front of our grapefruit tree at our site!

Some cactus in the park and pictures up and down the street we were parked on.

Made it!

O.K., we've made the trip. Fought a little wind along the way, but we prevailed! We are now in Mesa, AZ Will travel next week to Casa Grande for a couple of weeks. Haven't taken a lot of pictures, as the weather hasn't been too cooperative. I'll post a few, more to come.

We came hunting warmer weather, the first picture was Sunday morning leaving Willcox, AZ for Mesa. In the second picture there wasn't snow on the peaks the night before!

Lake Orion

We made it to Lake Orion yesterday. Today we went geocaching and balloon chasing. The geocaching we had planned to do, the balloon chasing just happened! The boys enjoyed the geocaching and both did pretty good with the GPS. We found 4 caches, each working the GPS twice.

As we were heading in about 4:00, Barb spotted 3 balloons. Since we had a little free time, off we went to get closer. Ended up finding where 1 was setting down and the boys got a good close look at a Hot Air Balloon!

Tomorrow is football games at 5, so probably won't do much after church.

Michigan "Taters"

On our way up Friday, we met a few trucks loaded with potatoes. After a little research on the internet, we found out Michigan, according to their potato website, produces more new and chip potatoes than any other state. After some "Private Investigating", we discovered some fields where they were still digging. That was our first job of the day, seeing if they were working. Sure enough, they were, may not be of interest to all of you, but we enjoyed watching something we had never seen. Those machines are pretty good size and dig (best we can figure) about 4-6 rows at a time. They dig, shake dirt, throw plants and debris, separate rocks and load the trucks, all at the same time! (Note the old military trucks!) Here's some pictures of the operation. Threw in the one of the sign, just because it was on the road beside where they were working, besides, how many have been to this little spot?

Sun coming up one morning
From the top, overlooking the resort
Coming down on the lift
Another view coming down

O.K., we're on the road again, but just a short trip this time. Probably be gone about 3 weeks. No 5th wheel this time, driving the "Rocky Truck", burning gasoline instead of diesel fuel.

For you who don't know, when you have a fleet of pickups, you have to give them names so you can keep them straight. "Big Red" is the diesel used to pull the 5th wheel, the "Rocky Truck" was my Dads that we bought after he passed away, and last but not least "Rusty", my 1991 S-10 that I bought new and because of sentinmemtal vaule we still have.
We're staying at Boyne Mountain Ski Resort near Boyne Falls, Michigan. (No snow..off season=cheaper rates!) Even got Barb to ride the ski lift to the top of one of the 'mountains'. She didn't really care for the swing of the lift chairs, but she made it just fine. We've posted some pictures from the resort.

Plan on staying here a few more days, then head down to Lake Orion to see those 2 boys.

We'll try to keep the blog updated, but you know how forgetful old folks are!!
